Margo Tank Mixers

Heating, Mixing and Cooling in One Device

A mixer is a device for thermal processing of milk, used in the dairy, food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries — anywhere a product needs to be mixed, heated and cooled. Made of stainless steel, designed to the client’s individual requirements.

✓Compliant with current standards
✓Easy to clean and maintain
✓Control panel made to order
✓3 processes in 1 device
✓Low energy consumption
✓High durability and reliability

Agitator and Material

Mixing is carried out by a single rotating agitator — paddle, screw or frame type, selected according to the type and density of the substance. Gearbox and operating speed are set individually.

The device is made of acid-resistant steel, grade 304 or 316, depending on the substance being mixed. The control panel features an electronic thermostat programmed to the client’s needs.

Example Build: Inner Jacket + Heating Jacket

A specific example of the two-jacket variant (tank + heating jacket) — a versatile device for applications where heating, cooling and mixing must take place in a single tank. Made of acid-resistant steel: the tank itself in 304 steel and the heating/cooling jacket in 304 steel.

  • Lid tightly bolted on
  • Inspection hatch in the lid, also tightly sealed
  • Two 1/2" threads and one 1" thread welded into the lid
  • Paddle agitator driven by a geared motor
  • Heating/cooling water jacket
  • Tank head with a drain outlet in the center
  • 1" water connection to the jacket at the bottom of the tank
  • 1" water outlet at the top of the tank
  • Three legs made of acid-resistant steel profiles

What Is Pasteurization

Product Safety and Shelf Life

Pasteurization is a heat treatment that inhibits or destroys almost all pathogenic microorganisms while preserving the flavor and nutritional value of the product. The method is named after Louis Pasteur, who developed it. Products are typically heated to 70–100°C. Pasteurization is applied to milk, wine, beer, meat, cold cuts and fruit preserves — then stored in hermetically sealed packaging.

Long Pasteurization
63°C / 30 min

Low-temperature treatment, longer time. Low-Temperature Long-Time method (LTLT).

Mild Pasteurization
72°C / 15–30 s

High temperature, short time (HTST) — faster, with less impact on flavor.

Rules for Correct Pasteurization

01 Pasteurize milk as soon as possible after milking — warm milk pasteurizes faster than chilled milk.
02 Cool the product as quickly as possible after reaching the target temperature.
03 Thoroughly clean the pasteurizer after each pasteurization cycle.
FDA Standards

Minimum Time-Temperature Combinations

Recommendations of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) — temperature and time considered sufficient to destroy pathogenic microorganisms.
